Designed to automate KanBan replenishment processes, the solution can be provided turnkey for a complete transformation and deployment, or as an upgrade to existing KanBan system deployments.

SMART SHELVES

At the center of the inventory management solution suite are RFID enabled smart shelves and transponders assigned to containers which allow real-time and remote capture of supply replenishment requests.

PICKING SUPPORT MODULE

This module enhances the picking process at central stores or distribution centres, by assigning, with the use of a mobile computer, new and appropriately sized containers, to supplies being picked.

This process will, amongst other things, optimize supply putaway at the point-of-use, as unitary containers assigned to supplies during picking will also have been pre-assigned automatically to locations in the clinical areas where they are to be delivered.

Additionally, since the new supplies are delivered already packaged in unitary containers, it is only at the time of delivery that the containers placed on the smart shelve, whose presence triggered the replenishment, will be retrieved and returned to the picking area to be reused for a future request, thus eliminating unnecessary trips to the nursing units.

VOICE ENABLED SUPPLY SEARCH

The eBin Lite voice enabled supply search solution, uses innovative LED technology, and voice recognition, to simplify product search by nursing staff at the point-of-use.

In response to a voice command request for a searched item, a list of choices appears on the touch screen, with photos and descriptions. The user can then select the desired product, and the light corresponding to the product’s location will illuminate.

SUPPLY PUTAWAY OPTIMIZATION

eBin Lite also optimizes the placement of supplies during delivery to the point of use.

During delivery to the point of use, the logistics agent only needs to scan the label on the side of the container to be placed, and the light corresponding to the product’s location will illuminate.

The Avatek eBin solution suite is designed to enhance, not replace, material management functionalities already available through solutions such as ERPs, WMS or point solutions already deployed in hospital organizations or distribution centers. Its open architecture allows for simple and efficient interoperability.
